'All is changed, changed utterly: A terrible beauty is born'. The immortal words of William Butler Yeats as he announced to the world the passing of an old order, and the emergence of Ireland as an independent self-governing nation.
A century on from the tumultuous events of 1916, Dubliners still celebrate in song and story those men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of Irish Freedom.
On this livestreamed tour we will tour around the old city, I will take you from City Hall - where, contrary to popular belief, the first actions of the Rising took place - past Trinity College to the General Post Office, command centre of the Easter Rising, and finally to the Gardens of Remembrance where we ponder Oisin Kelly's moving tribute to the men and women of the Rising - the "Children of Lir" statue.
Join me on a commemorative stroll around Ireland's capital as we remember and rekindle the Fenian Spirit of 1916, and pay tribute to a generation of men and women who brought into being one of the most stable democracies in the world.

Jack's Irish Tours
Born and bred in Dublin, but to parents from rural backwaters, Jack is equally at home in the countryside as in his native city. He's been tour guiding for over ten years now and asks himself why he didn't discover his beloved profession earlier! Jack is looking forward to letting the wonders of technology deliver his lively and entertaining tours of Dublin and other Irish places to more remote and varied audiences on Beeyonder.
