Itinerary

Welcome to the City of Sails Lonely Planet's top pick for best city in the world to travel to in 2022. So start planning your next trip now. Find out why as you join me for a walk along the Auckland waterfront.

Starting downtown at Commercial Bay our walk will take us to the Ferry Building where we explore the history, architecture, nature and discover the recent development and uniqueness of the area, while standing on a giant shelf.  We follow the Waitemata harbour front to the Viaduct Harbour with it's lively restaurant scene and super yachts. Great views of the skyline and Sky Tower. Walking further we cross two drawbridges arriving in Wynyard Quarter with its fabulous architecture, lifestyle, fun, history and culture.  This is a great introduction to Tāmaki Makaurau and our stories

Kia ora! I'm Louise, a Kiwi, and it's going to be fun showing you around Auckland. I was born in New Zealand, grew up on a farm and have lived and worked in Auckland for most of my life. I am a Tour Guide and have always enjoyed making new friends and exploring. I have been meeting and guiding for more than 15 years and worked with international visitors before that. I love walking and exploring and can't wait to share my walks with you. See you soon!

My group went on the Auckland Harbourside walking tour with Louise and  it was fantastic! Louise was really informative about the culture of New Zealand and explaining about the sites as she was walking along the harbour. I really felt like I was there with her! The live tours are such an amazing idea and I'm so happy we were able to make it work with Beeyonder. I know our seniors are really enjoying it!
