Itinerary
Regularly ranked at the top of Europe's most beautiful Christmas Markets, Budapest’s Christmas Fair is a charming and atmospheric experience. The two main fair centres of Vörösmarty Square and St Stephen’s Basilica are five minutes walk apart. We will walk around and experience the offerings of the many market stalls. Crafts, arts, food, many of them traditional Hungarian fayre, will all be on display. I will try to bring a Hungarian Christmas to life for the visitor, weaving the market experience with the local traditions of this unique country.
Note: Market dates for 2022 are: November 20th - December 31st. There are certain days that are not available, most notably December 24th, which is the main family celebration day.

I'm an Englishman who has lived in Hungary for 32 years. This "island" nation of Hungary is my home. I speak the language. My affection for this country, plus my ability to step outside, allows me to give unique views and perspectives to guests. The feedback I receive from guests, even from Hungarians themselves, is universally positive, as I try explain Hungary as it was, and as it is.
Note: I am a qualified Hungarian tour guide.
