Itinerary

This virtual tour will introduce you to the most iconic buildings in Venice and during the holiday season you will also experience the magical markets and the stunning Christmas tree at la Piazza San Marco. Referred to by Venetians simply as 'La Piazza', the square, let your local guides explain how it became known as 'the drawing room of Europe'. Admire the beautiful St Mark's Basilica, one of the best-known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture and see the stunning ground gold mosaics that took centuries to complete. Next, make your way to one of Europe's most breathtaking and easily recognizable buildings, Doge's Palace. Founded in 1340, the Palace was the official resident of the Doge of Venice, the elected leaders of the former Venetian Republic. This time of year you can also learn about the Clock's Tower Magi Procession and the famous Regatta!

·        Learn about the Clock Tower's Magi Procession

·        See the unforgettable Christmas tree in the Piazza San Marco

·        Discover the Regatta and find out how Santas became incorporated into Venice's canal culture
