We will start on the main street in front of the most popular Temple in Nara.
We have to make our way around the main gate, where huge Buddhist Guardians stand to protect what is inside the Temple.
We will then make our way onto the grounds of the temple where I will discuss the history and how Buddhism made its way to Japan and intertwined with Imperial Shinto Beliefs.
We will enter the Temple where we are also allowed to film, and you will see the largest indoor sitting Buddha in the world. I will explain who he is and what his purpose is thought to be.
We can walk around the Buddha and see displays inside the Temple and I will explain each one to you. We will end the tour walking around the back of the Temple and seeing some of the other Shrines located on this beautiful mountain.
