Yogyakarta is one of the provinces in Indonesia, that get a special status and instead of named the province of Yogyakarta, the area is name Special Region of Yogyakarta. There is a strong history behind that, and the previlage is that the reigning King (Sultan) will be the head of the Region. Yes, we have Sultan in our republic country.
The Sultan, and his royal family, has a special duty: to preserve the Javanese culture and heritage of the Kingdom of Yogyakarta. We have a long history that could be traced back to 7th century when the area was occupied by Hindu and Buddhist dynasties.
These Hindu and Buddhist dynasties left monuments big and small such as Borobudur and Prambanan Temples, and also influenced the Javanese cultures eventhough the kingdom is now an Islamic kingdom.
Besides the ancient monuments, we also have arts such as paintings, batik clothes with Javanese philosophies well-translated to those arts.
We also have a beautiful volcano, beaches... make it easy for you to fulfil your wish list. And for about 1 hour, I will spend the time with you to discuss your trip plan to Yogyakarta and around.
