You’ll be captivated by Stalinist Empire architecture in the heart of Kyiv. A large Independence square and a spacious main street, a massive column, and graceful details of the buildings.
Kyiv is well known for its onion-shaped golden cupolas of 11th-century cathedrals. However, there is the place in the heart of the city where the spirit of the Soviet epoch is still alive.
Independence Square is the place where all the revolutions take place. It has a very imposing Independence Column and some other unique sights. While taking a stroll along Khreshchatyk street we’ll mingle with the locals. The street was completely devastated during World II by Red Army troops who were retreating from the city and subsequently the street was rebuilt in the neo-classical Stalinist style. Enjoy the buzz of the place with me!
