Itinerary
Tiwanaku culture, is considered mother of the Inca culture. Main archaeological site of Bolivia. It is located 72 km. from the city of La Paz. In an area of 30 hectares, it presents a set of Templar remains of the Tiwanaku culture, among them the Kalasasaya or Sun temple inside which is the famous Puerta del Sol, the semi-underground Pachamama temple with its enigmatic nail heads. You can also see the pyramids of Akapana and Pumapunku (discovered only in part and currently under excavation).
This archaeological site is among the oldest of the Andean cultures of South America and its remains are surprising for their monumentality, for the perfection of the construction and decorative technique with rocks perfectly interlocked, in armony within its environment and people, there is a high plateau region between two mountain ranges, some cultivated fields of potatoes, quinoa and native communities still with additional living stile, come and be part of this live experience!
