Join me for a live walking tour in the Medieval Town of Rhodes, Greece!
The medieval town of Rhodes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an open air museum, where every street, building or square is a silent witness of the city's great history. In this tour you will learn about the history of the order of the Knights of Saint John. Who were the Knights, how and why they ended up in Rhodes, what happened to them next. You will see the massive moats and walls which surrounded the city. Also you are going to see the most important building of the order, the Grand Master Palace. It is built close probably to the site where the statue of God Helios ( one of the seven wonders of the ancient world ) stood. We are going to unravel the long and twisted story of this statue. And last but not least, we are going to walk the famous Knight's Street and where you will see and admire the inns where the Knights lived. It is one of the best-preserved medieval streets in Europe.
